IP Strategy

We help our clients compete in the market by securing ownership rights to trade marks, copyright, designs and patents (intellectual property rights). It is also very important to understand that a company should have a policy on how it manages its trade secrets. We can advise the company on what constitutes a trade secret and how it must protect them.

Companies wishing to attract new shareholders and investments should have a clear strategy for their intellectual property rights right from the start. If a company has not protected its trade marks, designs and/or patents, it risks losing its most important assets to competitors. If a client approaches us because someone has infringed their intellectual property rights, there may also be a breach of marketing law. Marketing law can, for example, protect against the use of misleading copies and the design of websites intended to mislead customers as to the company’s origin.

As rapporteur (Attorney-at-law Nina Barzey) for the AIPPI Trade Mark Working Group, we are part of a unique international network.

• Trademark and design registrations in Sweden – We act as counsel and submit applications to the Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV).
• EU trademark and EU design registrations – We act as counsel and submit applications to EUIPO.
• Drawing up a plan for an international launch, where it may be necessary to apply for trade mark or design protection through WIPO.
